Wow, I seriously dont know where to begin... like seriously it´s been the most eventful week ever. But I guess I´ll start with Tuesday night when we got the call for transfers after this 8-week transfer we just finished. I thought that for sure Hna Hernandez was going and I would stay in Villa Alegre or that we wouldnt have transfers. Turns out for my last transfer I had cambios!!! I went from the area Villa Alegre I in Surco to Cieneguilla I in La Molina! And on top of that, my new companion is... HERMANA VILLARINI!! So she is my daughter´s daughter, or in other words my first trainee´s trainee. I´m with my grandaughter (nieta)! After I left Salamanca, she took my place and Hermana Sassetti trained her. She is from New Jersey and is awesome and we´ve known each other since she got here. Another fun fact is that she has been in all the same areas that I have: Salamanca, Alameda, and now Cieneguilla! AND has been companions with Hermana Avendaño as well! So as you could imagine, we have a LOT in common and know a LOT of the same people. It´s perfect. I also found out at the transfers that Hermana Avendaño (who is still in Alameda) is TRAINING! So I have another nieta too! I am so happy for Hna Avendaño because she´s going to be a very patient and loving and hardworking trainer! And yeah, my grandaughter is here finishing me off!!
These were the first transfers with the new president and he made a LOT of them! Well, a lot of new missionaries came this transfer, like 26 Elders and 2 Sisters. The Elders are all Americans and the sisters are both from Mexico I think. We havent had any gringas come since last December. We welcomed all of them at the stake center in La Molina and had a huge devotional with them and the entire mission. President told us that out of the 110 companionships in our mission, 102 of them were changed. There were a lot of surprises but he told us that all of them were what the Lord inspired him to do. He assured us that where we were sent and with whom is exactly where we need to be. By today I´ve become 110 percent sure of that! It was so great to be at transfers and see everyone, it was just a huge love fest because we got to all reunite and it was amazing. I love love LOVE the sisters in my mission!! We all sang "Llamados a Servir" ("Called to Serve") together and the Spirit was so strong, and I totally cried. It was my last transfer meeting and I just love and will miss this so much.
So Cieneguilla is AWESOME. It reminds me so much of Chaclacayo, pretty removed from the city with tall desert mountains and there´s always SUN during the day. It´s actually located on the other side of the mountains where Chaclacayo is. And the people here are really receptive. Im just so pumped to work really hard for my last few weeks and enjoy missionary work. I have a great area and companion and I just feel SO blessed. I KNOW the Lord loves me because He gave me all of this at the end of the mission. My companion and I are just best friends already and we are finding and helping people here together! Yesterday we invited two people to baptism and truly have all the desires to change and follow Christ. Luis is a 19 year old who works with the 1st Counselor in the bishopric and had seen how living the gospel has changed him (the 1st counselor) and brings him peace. Luis had a baptismal date several months ago but traveled to the US and kind of disappeared for a while but we were able to get back in contact with him and last night we had an amazing lesson with him and he told us all about why he wants to change and become a better person. He even commented about missions and how they must be great and we told him that someday he could be a missionary too. So he accepted a date in September and even told us to please not forget about him. We left that feeling the Spirit strongly and feeling awesome. We then went to visit Yanet and Jimmy. Jimmy is the bishop´s brother and is inactive and his "pareja" (they´re not married) Yanet isn´t a member but has been coming to church consistently since Hna Villarini and her old companion started teaching them. They have a cute little son who´s a year old. The only thing keeping Yanet from being baptized is that they´re not married and wanted to wait until November so they could save some money beforehand. We´re also working to get Jimmy active again because Yanet goes every week and had a strong TESTIMONY. Wow. He wants her to get baptized and his son to grow up in the church and so yesterday we talked about that and talked about faith. We read with them Moroni 7:33 which says, "And Christ hath said: aIf ye will have bfaith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is cexpedient in me." We talked about that and faith and invited them to get married the 13th of September. Jimmy was a little hesitant, but Yanet was all for it. We were asking him about what he thought about the date and he didnt say much. Yanet said he´s a man of few words and my companion said, "There´s only one word to say, YES!" So he said yes and we all have faith that it will happen the 13th! We left that lesson on cloud nine. I´m so glad we were able to teach them with the Spirit because we have great companionship unity and also the faith that good, even wonderful things will happen this transfer. We have faith that we can pull down many blessings, even miracles, from heaven if we give our all and trust in the Lord.
So yeah, I´m super happy. I couldnt ask for anything better than this. I am so happy and excited to be in the Lord´s service and to know that he loves and watches over me. My birthday was great, just a normal work day but we did go out to lunch with the other sister missionaries in Cieneguilla, Hermana Mendoza and Hermana Hazelton (who also finishes with me and we were in Chosica together). We ate Chaufa con Mariscos which is chinese fried rice and seafood at a cevicheria. Bummer we couldnt eat ceviche but it was really fun!! I don´t know about you, but I´m feeling 22!!!
I also found a scripture that, besides Moroni 7:33 is the vision I have for this transfer:
Blessed art thou, Nephi, for those things which thou hast done; for I have beheld how thou hast with bunwearyingness declared the word, which I have given unto thee, unto this people. And thou hast not feared them, and hast not sought thine cown life, but hast sought my dwill, and to keep my commandments. (Helaman 10:4)
I love this. I hope I hear it from the Lord someday and I want to work hard with unwearyingness every day in order to do so. I love the Lord and I am just SO grateful.
Love,Hermana Bledsoe
